What happens if you breach the GDPR?

The GDPR gives all individuals the right to a judicial remedy. The key change is that individuals may bring a claim against the data controller or the data processor.

Minor breaches, which can include a failure to report in accordance with the above steps, may lead to a fine of up to €10,000,000 or 2% of the company’s total annual turnover for the preceding financial year, whichever is the higher value.
